The scent that started it all ✨
Let me introduce you to blackcurrant bud absolute - the ingredient that landed on my blending table one day and literally had me hooked with one sniff. I was instantly thrown into creating mode.
It became the heart of Enve - one of my very first perfumes. While some perfumers create a story/brief to build their scent, I work from inspiration and curiosity. Blackcurrant bud absolute wasn't what I was expecting - this golden honey-amber oil has this bright sweetness with a tart edge and green, leafy notes. It's a bit rebellious (like us) and doesn't want to fit into a neat mould. It plays beautifully with pink grapefruit, mimosa and violet leaf. The raspberry adds sisterly sweetness while copaiba grounds everything.
With my slightly unorthodox approach, I follow inspiration and let curiosity take the lead, letting one ingredient lead to another until it feels complete - how do I know? I can just feel it (or smell it?!) Then, I allow time with it sit with it, I let it evolve on my skin. I wait for it to tell me its own story, this can take minutes, hours or sometimes months. Enve whispered: "...enveloped in summer sunshine, intoxicating with a flirtatious flair."
This is how I create: one beautiful ingredient leads to another, building conversations between oils until something magical emerges.
Scents that make sense, naturally.
